Substance Books authors collaborate to boost social networking exposure at BookExpo America
New York, NY: Three authors represented by the online book publicity company Substance Books are putting social network collaboration theory into practice in preparation for Book Expo America 2011. Ramona Wray, P.H.C. Marchesi and Dr. Greg Martinez are recommending, re-tweeting and sharing one another’s press releases and titles on social networks. In doing so, they are widening their online exposure and increasing their WuzzRanks with relatively little extra effort.
"It takes time to build up a targeted network of book-buyers and followers," says Substance Books publicist Hajni Blasko. "So I encourage my authors to take advantage of one another's networks, particularly if their books have similar audiences." Marchesi, for instance, let her Twitter following of young adult fiction fans know about a Kindle promotion for Wray's teen romance novel.
Co-operation among authors has always been a key strategy for Substance Books, the world's first and largest online book publicity and search engine marketing company. "We believe the compounded publicity power of hundreds of authors allows them to reach a level of exposure that would be impossible for one author going it alone," says Blasko.
Substance Books will be attending BEA for the fifth time this year and Blasko says she's pleased with the quality of the titles they will be representing. J. Robert DiFulgo's The Invisible Moon is a psychological drama that tells the absorbing story of a Vietnam veteran who must relive his ordeal in order to dispel the ghosts and horrors of the past. Veterinarian Greg Martinez' Dog Dish Diet advises pet owners in keeping their dogs healthy through customized nutrition. Immaculate Recovery is an inspiring autobiography by Rick Laham, who went from drug addiction on the streets to recovery and a position as the managing partner of a multimillion-dollar telecom. Hex, a Witch and Angel Tale by Ramona Wray is a refreshingly innovative take on the supernatural teen romance genre and Shelby and Shauna Kitt and the Dimensional Holes is an imaginative science fiction adventure aimed at the same age group.
Authors who are interested in promoting their title at North America's largest book industry trade show are encouraged to apply for BEA representation with Substance Books by contacting Blasko directly via email. As part of a new collaboration, all Substance Books' BEA titles will be introduced to foreign rights specialist Deanna Leah of HBG Productions and International Publishers Alliance, which opens the possibility for foreign rights representation at the Frankfurt and London Book Fairs later this year.
"Appearing at trade shows like BookExpo America is not only an opportunity to promote our great roster of authors," says Blasko. "It's also a chance to spread the word about the power of online book publicity in general. Online promotion is of paramount importance for all published titles, whether published electronically or on paper, by large publishing houses or independent and small presses."
In particular, Substance Books focuses on Search Engine Optimization, which means making sure that a book appears within the top results of popular search engines. "After all," says Blasko, "93% percent of all of all web traffic passes through a search engine, and the only way to get this level of exposure is to make sure that a book appears within the first ten search results, not only for it's title and the author's name, but also for the sub-genres and key phrases that book buyers use to look for new reads."
Blasko will be available at BEA from May 23 to 26 to share her expertise in search engine marketing, social networking for authors, promotional websites and blogs and online image management. To make an appointment with her or for further information about representing a title at BEA, please don't delay in visiting http://www.substancebooks.com/bea-meeting.html or contact her directly via email.
