His exotic journeys, both in the military and afterwards, involve dramatic flying experiences, an espionage incident, a hazardous desert motorcycle ride, and a number of romantic encounters.

This novel, slightly amended and with a different cover, was first published under the title of ‘Around the World in 50 Years’.
